A Summer Orchestra Clinics


One week, every summer the A Summer Orchestra Clinics studies unique and captivating musical pieces. At the end of the week the orchestra performs an afternoon concert of the pieces studied. This summer will be the 8th year of the orchestra clinic. Registration for the A8 Summer Orchestra Clinic is now open, just click the link above. This summer, A8 will be June 22-June 28. Registration fee is $25 and limited to 100 orchestra members. Registration link will post on February 3.
A Summer Orchestra Clinics is sponsored by First Coast Baptist Church, First Coast Christian Schools, and the Women's Club of Jacksonville.

MISSION STATEMENT:
The "A" Summer Orchestra Clinic(s) were established in 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida to provide a non-profit educational setting for adult and high school instrumental musicians of 2 years or more of study to come together, learn together, and perform together in an atmosphere of enjoyment, collegiality, and partnership, while improving musical skills, musical understanding, and multi-generational collaboration. To promote live instrumental music in and for the local community.

Meet the Board Members
Mr. Ackerman is a State of Florida certified K-12 Music Educator and is Director of Instrumental Studies at Westside High School in Jacksonville Florida. He is also the Orchestra Director for the First Coast Baptist Church and the Assistant Director for the First Coast Pops Orchestra. Mr. Ackerman is the Principal Oboist for the St Augustine Orchestra and the First Coast Pops Orchestra. He serves on the Board of Directors for the St. Augustine Orchestra as the Chairman of the Artistic Advisory Committee. As an avid proponent of Chamber Music, Mr. Ackerman founded, manages and performs with 9B Woodwind Quartet. 9B performs regularly in the North Florida Region.
